The Energy Transition & Development Transformation Laboratory (ENTRA Lab) had the honor of participating in the “Science and Research Day” event at the University of Western Macedonia. The event was graced by the presence of Margaritis Schinas, Vice-President of the European Commission, who engaged with researchers and students, emphasizing the role of innovation in European development.
During the exhibition held at the Administration building, the ENTRA Lab team had the opportunity to present its groundbreaking research, including the JT Observatory project. This project, alongside other ongoing initiatives, reflects the laboratory’s commitment to advancing energy transition and sustainable development. The JT Observatory serves as a critical tool for monitoring and analyzing Just Transition processes, supporting data-driven decision-making for a more sustainable future.
Mr. Schinas showed great interest in the laboratory’s research efforts and expressed his admiration for the academic and technological advancements showcased. His visit provided an inspiring platform for knowledge exchange, highlighting the essential role of universities in fostering research that drives regional and European progress.
The event, hosted by the University of Western Macedonia, featured a discussion forum where distinguished scientists shared insights on research activities in Greece and the European challenges ahead. In his keynote speech, Mr. Schinas discussed the “European way of life,” addressing policies on education, health, security, and skills development in the workforce.
A heartfelt thank you to the University, the students, and researchers for making this event a resounding success!
